BiEcc

BiEcc is a new company set up by farmers to develop new opportunities for growing Miscanthus cane, operating as the Miscanthus supply manager for the Biomass Power Project situated in Eccleshall.

In order to make the project attractive to farmers, BiEcc will contract 50% of an area for power for which a planting grant of £290 per ha is available under Defra’s Energy Crops Scheme.

The remaining 50% of Miscanthus grown will be contracted into value added projects where Bical already have well established markets.

Clive Durose Wood Turners Ltd

Clive Durose Wood Turners Ltd produce internal joinery products such as staircases and flooring.

The company installed a 300kW wood fuelled TM/A biomass heater from Talbott’s Heating

Hot air convection pipes are used to provide space heating for the area of 17000 sq. ft.

The heater is run on wood shavings; several tonnes per day are used in winter, and the shavings are sold for alternative use in the summer.

The company saves a net amount of approximately £1800 annually.

Shenstone Lodge School

Shenstone Lodge School use and automatic-fed Talbott’s 150kW C3 boiler.

The system is fuelled on wood pellets, which are produced by Power Shred a firm based in Liverpool, and supplied under a full-service contract with Talbott’s.

The system provides hot water, which is used to heat dormitories, the main school building and an outdoor swimming pool.

The hot water is provided at a medium pressure at a temperature of 120°C
